Introduction & Summary

Recently we have heard a lot about the proverbial “next generation” of theatremakers, and about programmes in place by more experienced/established groups to train new(er) “emerging” artists. What of these labels, and how might we look beyond them to continue growing, shaping, and sustaining this theatre community?

By bringing together not only the pioneers of Singapore theatre and key players in the industry today, but also representatives from newer groups/collectives, this discussion hopes to bridge the ostensible “generation gap” in Singapore’s evolving theatre landscape, providing an opportunity for the sharing and exchange of ideas on the following areas:
• Training, Education, and Mentorship
• Platforms for Development/New work
• Constraints and Challenges

If you are familiar with terms like Fugard, fresnals and the fourth wall, this Meet & Mingle is for you.
This event will be relevant for playwrights, directors, actors, designers (set, lighting, costume, sound), composers, videographers, producers and directors.

Meet & Mingle is a Six Degrees networking event that connects the different stakeholders required to produce amazing works in the creative sectors. We recognize the need to bring together diverse skill-sets and believe in the power of collaboration.
